This list contains all the armor in Final Fantasy. The LOCATIONS column lists everywhere the item is found in the game; the locations in bold are places where the item is sold. Note that in general, a higher Absorb and a LOWER Evade% makes a better piece of armor. (Thanks to everyone who emailed me to point out that lower Evade% is better.) The Opal Bracelet is the best piece of armor for most of the classes (excluding those who can equip regular armor, like the Knight and Ninja), so keep an eye out for it. Note, this was a typo in the armor chart that came with the NES cart; the Gold and Opal armor stats were reversed in the chart.

The Ribbon is another great piece of armor; it protects your party from enemy magic and status attacks. Unfortunately, there are only 3 ribbons in the game.

Some armor, when used in battle as an ITEM, casts a spell at the enemies or on your party. I have added a chart at the bottom of this page listing those weapons and their uses. Also listed are the strengths of the some armor versus certain types of enemy attacks.
